How much does a logo cost?

How much does a logo cost?

You start a business, you hire an agency to design a logo, and you think it's a quick job. Not really! Before the final logo sees the light of day, it goes through a whole creative process at a professional agency. How much will it cost?

It depends

How much does a logo cost? There are many variables and every project is different. A fair quote depends on many details that the agency needs to learn from the client.

Sometimes clients are surprised by the price because they expected less. But in the end, it's not wise to order a logo from a freelancer for 200 PLN.

Why? Because a logo is not just a small image for your website or business card. It's the core of your brand identity. It should be attractive, original, trendy, but also timeless. A good logo should work well in 2 years and in 20 years. Things that last are not cheap.

Number of concepts

The number of variants depends on the agreement. Usually the designer prepares three initial concepts. The client picks one, and further work continues based on that idea with the client's feedback.

What clients often forget: the designer also spent time and creativity on the two rejected concepts.

Number of revisions

When estimating the price, the designer includes the possible scope of changes. Often, making revisions takes more time than creating the original design.

The standard is one to three revision rounds, but everything depends on the agreement between the client and the agency.

Number of versions

A logo from a professional agency is not just one graphic. The client gets several versions: primary, reversed, monochrome, horizontal, vertical, with and without a tagline.

The designer keeps in mind where the logo will be used. Not just on a website or social media, but also on business cards, stamps, office branding, billboards, and company t-shirts. The logo must look perfect on all of them.

File formats

A professional agency delivers the logo in many file formats for different uses. This always includes a vector version.

Brand book

More and more brands take their visual identity seriously. Along with the logo, they order a brand book. A simple brand book is easy to prepare. Professionals often go for a detailed one.

Key elements: logo origin, construction, safe area, variants, proportions and scaling, primary and secondary colors, examples of correct and incorrect use. Sometimes the brand book is prepared in several languages - then you need a translator or copywriter too.

A complex process

Logo design goes far beyond drawing a symbol.

The price depends on the agreed number of concepts, versions, formats, the scope of the brand book, and revisions.

Because how much is a logo worth when everyone who sees it instantly knows the brand, what it sells, and what it stands for?
